متن کاملLow fluence swift heavy ion irradiation of amorphous germanium
Synchrotron based Small Angle X-ray Scattering (SAXS) give evidence of SHI irradiation induced ion-tracks in a-Ge. The scattering spectra of the ion-tracks can be fitted by using a model function of a cylindrical electron density distribution with an internal core shell structure. Core and shell are both of constant electron density but one being overthe other under-dense with respect to the su...
متن کاملPhotorefractive effect and optical damage thresholds in z-cut swift heavy ion irradiation LiNbO3 waveguides
We have investigated the photorefractive effect and the corresponding optical damage thresholds of novel LiNbO3 waveguides fabricated by swift-ion irradiation. TEand TM-mode operation has been characterized and the influence of the beam propagation length analysed. The results are briefly discussed and compared with some data from other type of LiNbO3 waveguides.
متن کاملDegradation of cured polyepoxy under swift heavy ion irradiation
Glass fibre reinforced plastic (GFRP) is considered as structure support and insulating material for the new superconducting FAIR magnets. GFRP (G11) is a composite material consisting of woven glass fibres (volume fraction ~50 %) and cured polymer resin (e.g. amine-cured epoxy). The material will be exposed to cryogenic temperatures, high radiation levels and dynamic mechanical loads (Lorentzi...
متن کاملSwift heavy ion irradiation of SrTiO3 under grazing incidence
The irradiation of SrTiO3 single crystals with swift heavy ions leads to modifications of the surface. The details of the morphology of these modifications depends strongly on the angle of incidence and can be characterized by atomic force microscopy. At glancing angles, discontinuous chains of nanosized hillocks appear on the surface. The latent track radius can be determined from the variatio...
